1 Day
Three hours southeast of Tbilisi the green runs out and the ground starts eroding into ridges, gullies and pillars. Vultures live in it. Almost nobody goes.

8 Days
The Becho valley to the Ushba glacier, over the Guli Pass to Mestia, then the classic route to Ushguli under Shkhara. Six walking days, one rest day, guesthouse beds throughout. Starts and ends in Svaneti.

2 Days
This two-day Khevsureti tour is a journey into one of Georgia's wildest and most isolated mountain regions. We cross the Greater Caucasus by 4x4, follow the Arghuni and Andaki valleys, sleep beside the fortress village of Shatili and travel as far as Ardoti—one of the final inhabited points on the road.

6 Days
Take on one of Georgia’s most demanding trekking routes during this six-day Tobavarchkhili Lakes trek across the remote Egrisi Range. Walk approximately 50 kilometres from Mukhuri to Skuri, camp for five nights and cross a 2,900-metre pass surrounded by alpine meadows and glacial lakes. The trek is intended for experienced hikers prepared to carry camping gear and walk for six to eight hours in changeable mountain weather.

5 hours
Explore Georgia’s capital on a guided four-to-five-hour Tbilisi walking tour through the Old Town. Visit Metekhi, Narikala Fortress, the sulfur baths, Meidan Square, historic churches, caravanserais and the Bridge of Peace while learning how the city’s cultures and neighbourhoods developed. It is an ideal introduction to Tbilisi for first-time visitors.

The flexible route brings Georgia’s northern mountains and southern cave cities together in one journey.

Travel from Kutaisi through Svaneti and Racha on a seven-day 4×4 tour across the remote Zagaro Pass. Hike to Chalaadi Glacier, stay overnight in Ushguli beneath Mount Shkhara and continue through Lower Svaneti to Nikortsminda and the Khvanchkara wine region. This seasonal route operates from July to mid-September.

1 Day
Twelve to fifteen wines, three families who make them, one man who still makes the clay vessels they ferment in — and lunch that goes on considerably longer than you planned.

4 days
Explore southern Georgia on a four-day tour from Tbilisi covering Vardzia, Khertvisi, Vanis Kvabebi, Rabati and the volcanic Javakheti Plateau. Visit Paravani Lake, enjoy local food and qvevri wine in Saro, ride through Borjomi-Kharagauli National Park and finish at Abastumani Observatory. The route can also begin or end in Kutaisi.

1 Day
Two hundred kilometres, four sites, and a jump from Iron Age rock-cutters to a Soviet dictator's railway carriage without ever leaving the Mtkvari valley.

1 Day
Three UNESCO monuments, two rivers that refuse to mix, and 1,700 years of Christian history — all twenty kilometres from your hotel, and you are back in Tbilisi for lunch.

4 days
Four days on foot through the tower villages of Upper Svaneti, over the Chkhunderi Pass, to Ushguli under the glaciers of Shkhara. Guesthouse beds every night, a guide who grew up here, and one glacial river to get across.

Gergeti Trinity under Kazbek, a 3,338-metre pass to the three coloured lakes, two nights in the fortress villages of Khevsureti, a day on horseback, and the Aragvi to finish. Small groups, guesthouse beds, one properly hard day.

1 Day
A 16th-century fortress, a pass at 2,395 metres and a church that sits alone under a 5,047-metre peak — one long, well-paced day north of Tbilisi, in a private car, with pickup at your door.

1 Day
Kakheti is famous for its wine. This is the other Kakheti — the one where a kingdom kept getting sacked and kept rebuilding, and left four very different ruins to prove it.

Trail Riding on the Trialeti Ridge, 45 Kilometres from the City

4 days
Four days in Georgia's most remote highland region: the Abano Pass, a 3,050-metre ridge above four Tushetian valleys, a glacial lake at 2,850 m, and shepherd camps that have been in the same meadows for centuries. Either day can be ridden instead of walked.

1 Day
Two hours north of Tbilisi the road climbs into a ski resort whose base sits higher than most European summits. You do not have to ski to want to see it.

1 Day
Five skulls, 1.8 million years old, found under the floor of a medieval town two hours from Tbilisi. It is the oldest evidence of humans anywhere outside Africa, and almost nobody goes.

1 Day
Two hours southeast of Tbilisi the country turns to semi-desert and the monks got there first, in the 500s. Then north, to a town on a ridge where the whole Alazani valley opens up at once.

2 Days
Borjomi's mineral springs, the Rabati fortress at Akhaltsikhe, Sapara monastery in the forest, Khertvisi guarding its river junction — and a night near Vardzia so you can walk into the caves in the morning instead of arriving already tired.

7 Days
Cross from Khevsureti to Tusheti on a demanding seven-day Atsunta Pass trek through Shatili, Mutso, Ardoti and the remote Pirikiti Valley. Camp in the mountains and climb the 3,431-metre Atsunta Pass before descending through Girevi, Parsma and Chesho to Dartlo. This guided trek is for experienced hikers comfortable with long walking days, steep ascents and several nights without phone coverage.
