Jeep tour in Vashlovani protected area Overview
Jeep tour in Vashlovani protected area takes place in very south-east of Georgia, Kakheti region, and is absolutely unique place. It attracts tourists with its unusual landscapes, birdwatching lovers, and jeep tour lovers.
The tour is possible all year. But in summer – July and August there is really very hot. The tour is not possible in rainy weather. If the tour is booked and the weather doesn’t allow it, it will be canceled and fully refunded.
Vashlovani Protected Areas are located in the extreme eastern part of Georgia, in the Dedoplistskaro district. It consists of Vashlovani Strict Nature Reserve, Vashlovani National Park, and Natural Monuments as follows: “Eagle Gorge”, “Takhti-Tepa mud volcanoes”, “Juma Bay” and “Alazani Floodplains”, the total area of which is about 24924 ha. Vashlovani Protected Areas were opened in 2003.
The Protected Areas are located among the two main vital sources, the main rivers of Kakheti – Iori and Alazani. The gorge is a deep and very beautiful canyon cut by a little ravine through the cliffs of limestone origin.
During this tour, we will visit two major places in Vashlovani – Takhti tepa mud volcanoes and Datvikhevi gorge. Also, we will visit places near Dedoplistskaro – Artsivi gorge and Khornabuji fortress, which also belong to protected areas.
As Vashlovani protected area belongs to the border zone with Azerbaijan, tourists can be asked to send passport photocopies before the tour to get all necessary permits.
